How Become a Member of the Knights Templar

Membership in the Knights Templar is a distinguished step in the journey of Christian Freemasonry, offering qualified Sir Knights an opportunity to deepen their faith, strengthen their commitment to service, and join a fraternity dedicated to the principles of honor, charity, and brotherly love.
To become a member of a Constituent Commandery under the Hendley Mack Grand Commandery, Prince Hall Affiliation, Jurisdiction of Alabama, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Master Mason in good standing in a legally constituted Prince Hall Affiliated Lodge.
- Be a member in good standing of a Royal Arch Chapter.
- Be a member in good standing of a Cryptic Council.
- Profess a belief in the Christian faith.
- Complete and submit a petition for membership through a Constituent Commandery within the Jurisdiction of Alabama.
The Knights Templar is committed to preserving the traditions of Christian Knighthood while promoting fellowship, leadership, charity, and service to humanity. Through its ceremonies, educational programs, and charitable endeavors, members are encouraged to exemplify the virtues of faith, courage, integrity, and devotion.
How to Apply
Individuals interested in becoming a Knight Templar should:
- Contact the nearest Constituent Commandery under the Hendley Mack Grand Commandery.
- Verify their eligibility and Masonic standing.
- Obtain and complete a petition for membership.
- Participate in the required interview and investigation process.
- Receive the Commandery Orders upon approval and election.
