Origin of the Hendley Mack Grand Commandery
The Hendley Mack Grand Commandery, Knights Templar, Prince Hall Affiliation, Jurisdiction of Alabama, was established to govern and support subordinate Commanderies of Knights Templar within the State of Alabama. Named in honor of Sir Knight Hendley Mack, a distinguished Prince Hall Templar leader whose contributions helped advance Templar Masonry in Alabama, the Grand Commandery serves as the administrative and ceremonial authority for Alabama Knights Templar.
The Hendley Mack Grand Commandery is dedicated to preserving the traditions of Christian knighthood, promoting Masonic education, developing leadership among Sir Knights, and supporting charitable and community-service initiatives. Through its subordinate Commanderies, drill teams, and affiliated organizations, including the Order of Cyrene Crusaders, the Grand Commandery continues to strengthen the principles of faith, brotherhood, discipline, and service throughout the jurisdiction.
Mission
The Hendley Mack Grand Commandery exists to uphold the sacred principles of Knights Templar Masonry by fostering Christian fellowship, leadership development, charitable service, ceremonial excellence, and the preservation of the rich traditions of Prince Hall Affiliated York Rite Masonry.
